Name: _______________________ Score_____________ Grade________% As we prepare to leave the pyramids behind, students are working in teams to complete their "Globe Books" and highlighting their individual cultures by creating "Culture wheels". This will be done through their ELA classes but they will receive grades in both subject areas. The sarcophagus and hieroglyphics activities were amazing- hope you get a chance to stop by Franklin and visit our "Walls of Fame". We have said good-bye to the ancient Greeks and hello to the ancient Egyptians! Where would we be without the invention of the "shadoof"? We will be discovering this and all of the other achievements of the ancient Egyptians. Students will be working in larger groups to create "Globe Books" with each student having a particular section of the book. Details and the rubric for this project are found in the "Return of the Mummies" tab on this website. Dates of completion will be posted once the benchmark testing schedule for MYP has been issued. Please check your child's Agenda book for the date for their class. Students will also be completing an activity to create a higher-level thinking statement and then translate it to hieroglyphics. These illustrated statements are due January 28th as part of Lesson 2. Students will also be researching a person of their choice who has had a positive impact on history through exploration, discovery, science, the arts, athletics, literature, etc. In conjunction with Lesson 4, they will design a biographical sarcophagus for that person.
